Royal Thai Massage
Royal Thai massage is a traditional approach that uses the practitioner’s hands and fingers to apply controlled pressure. At Ounruean Clinic, a session begins with a conversation about your symptoms and an assessment of what care may be suitable for you.
This method is rooted in royal court practice, with careful hand placement, posture and pressure. The practitioner adjusts the session to your condition; stronger pressure is not automatically better. Tell them if anything feels painful or uncomfortable.
What massage may help with
Research on massage in general suggests possible short-term relief for some neck and shoulder pain. That does not establish the same benefit for every royal Thai massage technique or every condition. Massage should not replace medical assessment or your prescribed treatment. Read the NCCIH overview of massage evidence and safety.
Tell the practitioner about injuries, recent surgery, medicines, pregnancy and any ongoing health conditions. Explain where the pain is, when it started and what makes it better or worse. Together, you can discuss whether massage, another form of care or a medical referral is the right next step.
